It’s been an insanely busy summer. Here’s a brief round-up of goings on in the HDR-VFX universe:
We’ve been hard at work finishing our first self-produced project, Fly Fishing in Russia. A short live action spy drama with all digital sets, shot on HD with the Sony EX-1. The website is now up, and shortly so will the story. Have a peek here: www.flyfishinginrussia.com
Last Saturday, I took part in the San Jose edition of the Adobe/Scott Kelby’s World Wide Photo Walk. We had a lovely warm and sunny day to wander in and around Adobe HQ in downtown San Jose, followed by pizza and beer and a tour of Lightroom 2 from walk leader Bryan O’Neil Hughes. I still have to sort through my images before the deadline this weekend. I guess that’s what I’ll do on the plane tomorrow.
Which brings me to Comic-Con. Yes, it’s true, this geek has never been to SDCC before. *hangs head in shame* I’m looking forward to the cool toys (Tribbles!), sneak previews, and general mass hysteria that conventions generally provide. Everyone seems to have their own “must see” list of panels and events. For me, it’s Torchwood, Sanctuary, Stargate Universe, Avatar, the 10th Anniversary of Farscape, and the Wonder Women panel just to name a few. I’ll be the one wearing the t-shirt with the cryptic quote promoting Fly Fishing in Russia.
And last, but definitely not least: STEAM, the feature film we worked on last year – and which is seen in this year’s Red Giant NAB Demo Reel – is now listed by Wolfe Video as shipping in September! You can pre-order your copy of STEAM on DVD via the the Wolfe website.
