HDRI Symposium

Monday, September 14th, 2009

I’m out in California at the moment, having attended the High Dynamic Range Imaging Symposium at Stanford last Thursday and Friday. While the majority of the engineering and math went straight over my head, it was worth sitting through to get to the numerous discussions on the current state of HDRI technology in both hardware and software.

As someone who has been capturing, creating, and writing about 32-bit imagery for the last 7 years, it was truly amazing to have all of the creators of the techniques, applications, file formats, and emerging technology in one place at the same time. After two days, I’m left with the feeling of having attended a Master’s Class in all things HDR.
